Position Overview

We currently have an opportunity in our Southeast, USA region for a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic to join our Sales Team in the role of Business Development Manager, Spartan Sports Lighting. As our ideal candidate you will be results driven, organized, professional, and embrace a proactive approach to your work.
 
This position will be instrumental in driving growth in the sports lighting field, specifically in the municipal and utility market. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who is up for the challenge of making a presence in the sport lighting market and assigned product line and who wishes to grow within the company.
 
Operating remotely, this position will be ideally located within our Southeast region (Alabama, Florida, or Georgia). Extensive travel within the territory will be required.

This is a mid-level position with a salaried plus performance incentive pay structure.


Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director of Sales, Spartan Sports Lighting to develop the strategic/business development plan for assigned area
  • Develop direct relationships with new prospects and assist in the growth of new product specifications within existing accounts of the Spartan Sports Lighting product line
  • Ability to develop customer specific written technical specifications as required
  • Work closely with Engineering and Marketing to develop project proposals in a timely manner
  • Provide technical support to customers and Territory Managers
  • Work with Engineering to ensure customer requirements are being met and information is available at the start of a project
  • Have an awareness of the competition and provide competitive analyses on projects within assigned region
  • Provide strategic pricing analysis quotes to territory managers
  • Drive new opportunities by working directly with engineering firms, parks and recreation, schools, and municipalities
  • Present Spartan Sports Lighting’s product and services to customers in a variety of situations utilizing sales presentations, meetings, field visits, and national/regional trade shows in a compelling and engaging manner
  • Provide support on specification development and government bids
  • Work with the Growth Team leadership to increase StressCrete Group's market share
  • Work with Marketing and Territory Managers on developing targeted email campaigns and detailed proposals
  • Be an expert in the field of outdoor sports lighting
  • Have a good understanding of photometrics and design code
  • Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company

Requirements

  • Post secondary education within a business, technical, or sales related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales experience is an asset
  • Proven ability to lead all aspects of the sales cycle with the ability to uncover, qualify, develop, and close new accounts
  • Salesforce experience is an asset
  • The ability to develop and foster lasting relationships
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates a high level of customer service
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to travel approximately 40% of the time
  • A valid passport with the ability to travel within North America
